CARIA, Tabae. Valerian I. AD 253-260. Æ (36mm, 27.56 g, 5h). Sta. Iatrocles, archon. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Artemis, drawing arrow from quiver at shoulder and holding bow, standing right, and a goddess, holding patera and spear, each wearing Phrygian cap, standing left. Robert, Carie BK; SNG München 465; SNG von Aulock 2728. Dark brown surfaces, light roughness, metal flaw on obverse. VF.
The reverse figure is typically referred to as Mên but Robert (Robert, Carie p. 145) argues against that and prefers a local goddess.
