French Protectorate. Ranavalona III Fantasy Specimen Pattern 10 Centimes 1883 SP65 Red and Brown PCGS, KM-X1, Lec-5. This type is generally considered a "fantasy" issue rather than a true pattern. But the design is simple, yet regal and elegant, and this particular Gem example has superb brick-red color with a fantastic tangerine underglow. PCGS has certified no examples in a finer grade.
