Madagascar
French Protectorate. Ranavalona III silver Proof Uniface Pattern 5 Francs 1895 PR64 NGC, Lec-30,37 (obverse), Gad-9,10 (obverse, in silver). Possibly a trial strike for the "unofficial" Dr. Reginald Huth commissions that were produced by Pinches & Co. of London. The same obverse was used for two types of "pattern" 5 Francs issues that were created in many different metals. This is no doubt, an incredibly rare, and possibly unique piece that is sure to excite collectors of this unusual but rare series.
