Francois I (1515-1547) gold Ecu d'Or ND (from 1519) MS63 NGC, Montpellier mint (pellet below 4th letter), Fr-345, Dup-775 3.38gm. +FRANCISCVS: DEI: GRA: FRANCOR: REX, crowned royal shield within inner border, sun above / +XPS: VINCIT: XPS: REGNAT: XPS: IMPERAT, cross-fleury, F in first and fourth angles, lis in second and third. 5th type, 3rd emission (from 21 July 1519). Slightly struck through in some central areas but highly desirable, displaying nice silhouetting in the legends and only bested by a single example out of 92 graded by NGC.
