France, Pierre Deluns-Montaud (1845-1907), Minister of Public Works, large sculpted uniface silvered-metal Medallion, undated, by Louis P. Maubert (1875-1949), bust right in high relief, with rough-shaped truncation, 104mm., contained velvet and silk-lined green leather fitted case, splendidly sculptural, extremely fine and rare; Germany, Dr. Otto Meyer, Bronze Medal [1950], by Richard Knecht (1887-1966), bespectacled head left, rev Hercules wrestles the bull, 110mm., in blue leather fitted case of issue, extremely fine (2)
Otto Meyer was Managing Director [Generaldirektor] of M.A.N. [Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg], 1946-1954. The medal celebrates his 25th anniversary and also his 30th anniversary at GHH [Gutehoffnungshütte]. A similar medal was sold by Leipziger Münzhandlung & Auktion Heidrun Höhn, 8 February 2017 (lot 96)
