Photocopies of his discharge papers dated 17th November, 1875, are sold with the lot. "It appears that 'his conduct has been 'very good' and he is in possession of four good conduct badges, in possession of the Indian Mutiny Medal, medal and gratuity of £5 for Long Service and Good Conduct...His name appears in the Regimental Defaulters Book four times and he was never tried by Court Martial."
