Issue from the year of the end of the Eighty Years' War in the Netherlands (1568– 1648), which ended on October 24, 1648 with the signing of a peace treaty. This confirmed the existence of the Republic of the United Provinces of the Netherlands as a territory independent of Spain. Thus, the status that the Republic had actually had for many decades was formally recognized.

Mint condition. Lots of gloss and clear, sharp details. An attractive piece minted on an irregular planchet that was not later cut to shape, as is often the case with such coins.

Krążek nieregularny, ale moneta zachowana z pięknym, naturalnym lustrem i nie sposób powiedzieć o niej, żeby była gięta, chyba że NGC zinterpretowało w ten sposób nadmiar metalu, który wypłynął spod stempla, z lewej strony.
