Netherlands, Ducat 1649 - Kampen

The image of the emperor on the obverse is the same as on the previously presented ducats of another mint, Gelderland, from 1648 and 1649 and on the later ducat from 1650. This explains why the position of die sinker in both mints was entrusted to the same person. The similarity can also be seen in the lack of punctuation of the legend on both sides, the shape of letter punctures (e.g. E, M) or in the 8 dots evenly spaced around the square with the inscription on the reverse. On the reverse, it is also clearly visible that the letters A have been punched with inverted V letters with a dash added.

Nice condition with remnants of gloss.

Wizerunek cesarza na awersie taki sam, jak na prezentowanych wcześniej dukatach innej mennicy – Geldrii – z lat 1648 i 1649 oraz na późniejszym dukacie z 1650 r. Tłumaczy to powierzenie stanowiska rytownika stempli w obydwu mennicach tej samej osobie. Podobieństwo widać również w braku interpunkcji legendy na obydwu stronach, kształcie punc literowych (np. E, M) czy w 8 kropkach rozmieszczonych równomiernie wokół kwadratu z inskrypcją na rewersie. Na rewersie widać również wyraźnie, że litery A zostały wybite odwróconymi puncami literowymi V z dorobioną kreseczką.
