Rostowzew, M. TESSERAE PLUMBEAE URBIS ROMAE ET SUBURBI. TABULAE I–XII. Petropoli, 1903. Folio [39.5 by 24 cm], later black cloth, gilt. (2) pages; 12 fine phototype plates of tesserae. Small marginal repair to title leaf. Near fine. Extremely rare. Rostowzew's work on the tesserae, published at the turn of the 20th century, was highly important but its effect on scholarship was limited somewhat by its scant distribution. This folio-format collection of plates is of particular rarity, and illustrates 768 tesserae and six moulds for them. Bernhart 90. Clain-Stefanelli 4990*.
