Medina, J.T. MANUAL ILUSTRADO DE NUMISMÁTICA CHILENA. LA COLONIA. Santiago de Chile: Imprenta Elzeviriana, 1919. 8vo [24.5 by 15.5 cm], laid into original printed paper covers, as issued. 19, (1) pages; a few halftone text illustrations; 10 lithographic plates of coins, the first four printed on card stock. An untrimmed copy, with slight variations in the sizes of the pages and plates, as issued. Marginal foxing. Near fine. An untrimmed copy, being from the original issue (later copies were trimmed and bound in blue card covers printed on the blank backs of halves of the card covers from the quarto Las Monedas Coloniales de Chile). As Roberts notes, this work is "arranged chronologically by kings, from from Philip V to Ferdinand VII (1700–1817)." Printed on Medina's own press, Elzaviriana. The year 1919 marked the publication of over one-third of Medina's numismatic titles. Old Elzeviriana, and José for that matter, must have been worn out and Medina sold the press later in the year, ending his career as a printer. Burzio Centenario 76. Clain-Stefanelli 11503. Roberts 149. Schaible 258. Ex Sergio Guarisco Pozzi Library, with his ink stamp.
