Bindings worn, with some tears to cloth; joints cracked; intermittent foxing; very good. The best edition of this significant documentary work. According to the prospectus the work was "To be published in Twenty-five Parts, as nearly as can be computed, price 5s. each Part." Publisher Hearne observes that "the object of the Author was to produce a grand comprehensive History of the Coinage of his native country" and concludes that "The Work, then, of which a new and improved Edition is proposed, is justly to be regarded as a National work. It is worthy of remark, that it is unique of its kind, no other country having so complete an account of its coinage." Clain-Stefanelli 9708. Ex Syd Martin Library.
