Berlin, (30. April 1878 und folgende Tage). 8vo, contemporary tan half morocco, gilt; spine ruled and lettered in gilt. (559)–726 pages; lots 6206–7171; text illustrations; printed prices realized list bound in. Binding rubbed; contents near fine. Louis Eliasberg's well-preserved copy of the Mexican portion of this famous catalogue. Despite their age, these catalogues are still of great importance, largely due to the vast size of the collection and the remarkably detailed cataloguing. Indeed, the Weyl firm was instrumental in popularizing the collecting of American coins in Europe. Their pioneering efforts have, until recently at least, gone largely unappreciated. Clain-Stefanelli 10542* and 11558*. Grierson 212 and 312: "Un ouvrage de référence classique." Ex Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. Library; ex Richard A. Eliasberg Library.
