Small 4to, original russet cloth, paneled in blind, front cover lettered and decorated in gilt. Engraved title preceding printed title; 45, (7) pages; 11 engraved plates, being 9 plates respectively depicting the left-hand faces of (above) 1875 Series United States Notes [$500 is 1874] and (below) first charter period National Currency in $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1000 denominations, followed by 2 plates depicting alternately the left- or right-hand side of the backs of the National Currency notes of the $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1000 denominations, all printed in green and black. Covers spotted; front flyleaf adhered to pastedown, affecting first few leaves including engraved title, which is nearly loose. Very good or so, but with near fine plates. Newman 13-BH-2. This final edition of the Banking House and Counting Room Edition is very attractively produced and well-printed, with excellent plates. The publication was going out on a high note. The penultimate printing, with only an 1887 printing of this edition following.
