United States Coin Company. NUMISMATIC AUCTION CATALOGUES. New York, 1912–1917. Sixteen catalogues, as follows: Adams 1–4, 13, 14, 16, 19, 20, 22, 28, 29, 32–34 and 38 (the last with the separately printed supplement). 8vo [varying sizes], most in original printed card covers. A few with annotations; generally very good or better. [with] United States Coin Company. FIXED PRICE LISTS. Four catalogues: No. 1 (September 1912); No. 2 (October 1912); Special Summer List (July 1913); and the October 1913 unnumbered list. Various bindings; third removed from previous binding. Good to fine copies. A good group, including a number of scarce catalogues and important sales. Adams 4 is rare, and is one of the first to really shine in the area of Hard Times tokens, a favorite of Raymond's. Sales 13 and 14 are two of the few catalogues of the period to be important in the area of CSA paper money. Adams 16 is an important sale for Canadian colonial tokens, with four Side-View tokens, three Bridge tokens, nearly complete Montreal sous, a D under C White's Nova Scotia farthing and other rarities. The Andrus sale (Adams 19) includes decent large cents and Connecticut, Vermont and New Jersey coppers, but probably most important for Liberty Seated silver. Raymond considered the Hard Times Tokens included in Sale 28 to be the finest he had ever offered, and they are outstanding indeed. The sale is also notable for a large collection of nearly 150 lots of California fractional (and dollar) gold coins, as well as some very fine large cents that were consigned by Henry Hines. The Brenner sale (Adams 33) is important for Washingtonia, and includes a 1792 Roman Head cent, a Washington before Boston medal, a silver Manly medal, a gold oval funeral badge and other rarities. The supplement to Sale 38 is rare, and is unlisted in Adams. Ex Cardinal Collection Library.
