Medal; The Royal Family / Birth of the Duc de Berry, 1693 - France Louis XIV Dynastic Restrike Medal. displays the portrait of the king and those of the Duc de Berry and his three sons on the rev side. The original French issues - French Peace Medals were introduced to the American Indians by French Traders working mainly in present Canada and were the first medals awarded by Colonial Powers in Canada to their Indigenous allies for diplomatic reasons and were in fact distributed to Indigenous Chiefs/Tribes.
