An underrated type and denomination from the first series of the People's Republic of China. While higher grade examples of this type are sometimes seen, they tend to be strongly held, and many times higher grade examples come with significant problems, such as trimming or extensive repairs. This example is free of any problems, and the overall eye-appeal is strong, especially so for a type that was produced with disregard to overall quality as the focus was to turn out as many notes as possible using poor quality paper in less than ideal conditions.
