Cuba ND (1896) P-51s PMG Gem UNC 65 EPQ 100 Pesos (Specimen)
The only graded specimen for this Pick number in the PMG population report. An exceptional opportunity to acquire what is no doubt the finest known example (in any form) of this scarce issue, which was printed in England by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. To the best of our knowledge this example has not appeared at public auction in recent memory, and while the Banknote Book lists specimens of other denominations of this series, it is lacking an entry for a specimen of the 100 Pesos denomination. Our research in our extensive library revealed an example selling way back in 1985 in London, but no others could be located by us. The design truly comes into its own on this Gem Uncirculated example, which includes the counterfoil at left, which would have been retained by the bank upon issue. An exceptional rarity in this format, making this an offering that should not be considered lightly. Once this note sells it could be many years before another specimen of this Pick number appears on the market again, if ever.
