Israel 1958 / 5718 UNC 10 Lirot Pair of (Progressive) Proofs with Original Archival Folder
An extremely unusual pair of notes that traces their pedigree back to the Raphael Dvir collection. Included is the original folder that these progressive proofs came from. They were stapled together, and staple holes can be seen on both examples. The notes were cut oversized from the sheets, presumably to show the state of the plate when printed. The first print features an incomplete print of the front along with a fully printed back, while the second piece is a fully printed proof. The folder dates these to 1961. Highly unusual, and the first we have offered, we presume the pair as seen here is unique. Not to be missed.
