Persia ND (1890-1923) P-2s PMG About UNC 50 2 Tomans (Specimen)
Next denomination in the Qajar set of the Imperial Bank of Persia. Undated, but with "Payable at Teheran Only" can be seen on the back. The Imperial Bank of Persia operated numerous branches around the country, and notes were (in theory) to be redeemed at specific branches, which were listed on each individual note. A total of 28 branches operated during the note-issuing era, with Teheran, being the capital, the largest and most prolific issuer. Offered here is a pleasing specimen of this issue which saw some light handling over the years, but which faces up much nicer than the technical grade would suggest. Quite unusually, it is entirely problem-free, with no mounting remnants, writing or pinholes.
