A fantastic high-grade example of this iconic type. Typically seen in well-circulated condition, this is by far the nicest example of this type we have handled. This is the single finest example of this Pick number in the PMG population report, and the few examples that grade finer are all later (and more common) dates. The 1 Pound was a staple of banknote issuance by the Royal Bank of Scotland and was typically the note most people would see when they needed "higher" denominations, with most day-to-day transactions facilitated by coins. An important opportunity for the Scottish specialist and a true condition rarity at this grade level.
