Victoria (1837-1901), gold Five Pounds, 1887, Jubilee type crowned bust left, J.E.B. on truncation for engraver Joseph Edgar Boehm, Latin legend and border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:, rev. St. George and dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue, edge milled, 40.02g (Schneider 653; Hill F30; S.3864). Light brush marks in obverse field, a small nick below I of BRITT, otherwise a pleasing example with strong residual lustre, extremely fine.

Calendar year mintage 53,844.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
