George IV (1820-30), silver Shilling, 1825, first laureate head left, B.P. for Benedetto Pistrucci below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D:, rev. second crowned quartered shield of arms centre, seven strings to Irish harp, with an escutcheon of the Arms of Hanover, garter motto surrounding, cinquefoil stops, HONI. SOIT. QUI MAL. Y. PENSE., date ANNO 1825 below, 5.66g (Bull 2402; Davies 222; ESC 1253; C&R 1203; S.3811). A superb example retaining full mint lustre, particularly on the reverse, some light bagmarks and toning on obverse, graded by NGC as MS63.

The Latin legend translates as "George the Third by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith," and the Old French motto as "Shame on he who thinks ill of it."
