China China Specie Bank Limited, Shanghai 5 Dollars 10.1922 Pick S228As S/M#C261 Specimen PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. The China Specie Bank Limited was a Chinese-American joint venture which was founded in 1920 and prepared to issue banknotes two years later. Unfortunately, the bank collapsed before banknotes could be issued, which leaves Specimen and Proofs as the only options to acquire these notes. This 5 Dollars was to be the second denomination in the series. Rarely seen and the first we have offered. Red overprints and hole punched cancellations are mentioned for accuracy.
