HSBC is one of the most famous issuer of banknotes in China and Hong Kong, and as such there is a large collector group for notes and Specimen. This stunning Specimen is from the 1922 series printed for Chefoo. All three denominations of this short series depict specific designs that were not used for other cities in China. A traditional Chinese woman is engraved on the front, while HSBC's headquarters in Hong Kong and Shanghai are seen on the back.
