Hong Kong Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp. 10 Dollars 1.1.1901 Pick 151s KNB39S Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. A fantastic Specimen representing the second denomination from Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp.'s series of 1900-1902. This note was part of the first series to use one of the "Big Three" printers in the U.K. The emission was short lived, and phased out of circulation beginning in 1905, when the Waterlow & Sons types began circulating. Of importance, this type is almost identical to the emissions used in other parts of mainland China, such as Shanghai, but is differentiated by its color schemes. At the time of cataloging, only a mere four examples are registered in the PMG Population Report, denoting the scarcity of this piece. A perforated cancellation has been tastefully placed below the manuscript signatures.
