Hong Kong Government of Hong Kong 1 Dollar ND (1935) Pick 311 KNB1a PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. The Government of Hong Kong assumed responsibility for issuing the initial paper currency in the colony beginning in 1935. Due to King George V's passing in 1936, this remains his only portrait note for Hong Kong. A most extraordinary example of a banknote that is usually found in rather ordinary condition. Absolutely stunning original condition is seen through the third party holder, with pinpoint centering, sharp corners, and bright, original colors. A technical triumph, this note was printed with perfection, and cut from the sheet with exacting precision. Handled carefully from the printer to the Hong Kong Government, then to the bank teller and on to the original recipient. Thankfully this beautiful note was saved to be enjoyed today.
