Tu Duc gold 5 Tien ND (1848-1883) UNC Details (Obverse Scratched) NGC, KM538, Schr-408, S&H-3.3.1.3. 17.35gm. Extremely rare and grand in size, with little of the usual doubling of the characters seen on so many of the Annamese presentation issues of the period. Struck from the same dies as the silver 5 Tien, this impressively pedigreed specimen is one of just a small handful to have appeared in the market in recent years, marking it as a clear target for the advanced collector of early Vietnamese coinage.
