Qing Dynasty. Shangdong Yankeding Sycee of 10 Taels ND Certified MS61 by Gong Bo Grading, cf. Cribb-XIX.A (different smith). 64x41mm. 1842gm. Stamped in two sections, the right column reading: "Shan dong Yan Ke" (Shandong Province Salt Tax), and the left reading: "Li Jin Cheng" (smith). These Yankeding are typical Zhongbao ingots weighting around 10 ounces. They were salt ingots cast according to the Treasury Scale with an ounce of about 37.3gm. The present offering is true to its origins presenting crisp and sharp peripheries with nuances of mint bloom to the fields.
