Fengtien. Kuang-hsü 50 Cents Year 24 (1898) AU55 NGC, Fengtien Machine Factory mint, KM-Y86, L&M-473, WS-0586. Wide-mouthed dragon variety. A wholesome specimen that is seldom offered to begin with, and even more infrequently encountered straight-graded such as the present offering. The visual aesthetics are undeniable when looking at the dragon's scales glistening with movement at the turn of the wrist. Its facial features, albeit admitting mild wear, remain fully expressive and bold. The fields are devoid of any singularly important instances of impact, and are pleasantly dressed up in even patination with a faint rose undertone.
