Kweichow. Republic "Auto" Dollar Year 17 (1928) Fine Details (Cleaned) PCGS, KM-Y428, L&M-609, Kann-757, WS-1109. Two blades of grass variety. Such a unique and charming design type, the folky "Auto" depiction harkens back to the early days of automobile production. Light wispy hairlines and a yellow-green tinted patina are evidence of a past cleaning but there is a lot to appreciate about this example. There are very few noticeable marks or hits to the surfaces and rims, a pleasing achievement for a heavily circulated large coin like this. Sure to excite collectors searching for a Chinese classic at a slightly lower price-point than is usually available.
