Tibet. Theocracy 1/2 Rupee ND (1904-1905) MS63 NGC, Chengdu mint, KM-Y2, L&M-361, K-595. On display here is an incredible Choice Mint State specimen of a decided conditional rarity. The detail on this coin, especially the obverse portrait, is laudably bold, which is a welcome feature for a series that often suffers from strike quality issues. The fields show very little chatter and convey silky smooth velvety luster. The peripheries have developed colorful toning ranging from teal to sunburst. Examples of this type as nice as this only come up for auction every few years, so collectors who demand top quality should take special notice of this lot.
