Yunnan. Hsüan-t'ung 50 Cents ND (1909-1911) MS65 NGC, Kunming mint, KM-Y259, L&M-426A, Kann-176. 7 flames on pearl variety. The scarcer of the two flame on pearl varieties for this type, the current offering stands head and shoulders above its peers in the NGC census as presently the highest graded specimen extant, and bested by none in PCGS population as well. Rightly so, as the fields are impeccably pure as fresh snow, the visual aesthetic further boosted by breathtaking luster. For a type that is most often encountered at least lightly circulated, this piece is an unlikely survivor and we anticipate ferocious bidding activity from quality-minded collectors.
