Sweden 1857 P-A124b PMG Choice UNC 63 2 Riksdaler Banco
While not necessarily a rare type, specialists know that this type usually comes in heavily circulated condition. Thanks to its thin paper, high grade examples are rarities and seldom become available for sale. In fact, this particular example is the only uncirculated note of this type in the PMG population report, and it is certainly the first uncirculated example we can recall seeing. This is one of the lowest denominations in use at the time which meant that these would have been heavily used in Swedish commerce at the time, and the survival of this note at this grade level is a true miracle.
