Sweden 1938 P-38c PMG Choice Very Fine 35 EPQ 1000 Kronor
High denomination type from Sweden dating back to the 1930s that has survived in circulated, yet original condition, which is highly unusual for this type. Even though this was not the highest value issued at this time, as a 10,000 Kronor was also being printed, the sheer face value of that denomination assured that this 1000 Kronor was the highest denomination in everyday circulation. Even then, its tremendous buying power assured that few people in Sweden would see or use this note regularly. Today, these early 1000 Kronor are very scarce and seldom encountered. This date had a total print run of 230,000 notes. Fantastic originality and eye-appeal are seen on this example, which will be a welcome collection to an advanced Scandinavian collection.
