Chimu-Inca Zoomorphic Bottle. A gorgeous Chimu-Inca zoomorphic bottle from Peru, ca. 1300 - 1500 AD. This lovely orangeware example is 7" high and depicts a morphed mythical creature draped over the top of the chamber. It has the head of a Spectacle Bear, but the body and tail of a lizard. The animal is molded in high relief, is burnished and highlighted with white pigment to set it off from the stippled surface surrounding it. In perfect condition, with extensive dendrites.
