Linea Vieja Figure. An excellent Linea Vieja rattle figure from Costa Rica, ca. 800 – 1200 AD. This fine example is 3-1/4” high and depicts an individual wearing a fancy hat, and complex necklace. The wing ornament on his back is indicative of a dancer in a transformation ritual. Numerous rattles inside the hollow body, good mineral deposits. Ex Boston estate. Cf.
