Colima Shaman. A fine Colima shaman figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. He is 5-3/4” high and is depicted standing in the traditional Mesoamerican dance pose. He is wearing the horn on his elongated head that is characteristic of his status as shaman. The nicely burnished slip shows good mineral deposits and root marks. Ex Arnold collection. Cf.
