THESSALY, Koinon of Thessaly. temp. Nero. AD 54-68. Æ Triassarion (24mm, 9.96 g, 12h). Laouchos, strategos. Draped bust of Eirene right, wearing wreath of grain ears and olive branch / [ΛA]OVXOV [ΣTPATHΓOV], Apollo Kitharoidos seated right, holding kithara in his left hand, playing it with his right; tripod to right. Burrer Em. 2, Series 4, Group 1, – (A30/R– [unlisted rev. die]); RPC I Supp. S-1450A var. (no tripod); BCD Thessaly 943.2 var. (same). Near VF, dark green patina. Very rare.

The "Σ" in ΣTPATHΓOV is simply a guess. Both "Σ" and "C" were used during the time of Nero.
