Muhammad b. Tughluq left his son Jauna to rule the Sultanate while he invaded Bengal and gave instructions for him to occupy himself by building a wooden palace in his honour. However, on his return, its roof fell in fatally injuring the Sultan. It is suspected that this was no accident, that Jauna had tampered with the building and murdered his father in this elaborate manner in order to gain the throne.
