A COLLECTION FORMED BY PAUL STEVENS, SULTANATES Muhammad b. Tughluq, Gold 'Adli, fi zaman/Shahada type, Hadrat Daulatabad, AH 730, 9.15g (G&G D351). Extremely fine, rare. The innovative Gold 'Adli of 80-Rati was issued for only a few years, AH 728-732, and only from the mints of Daulatabad (AH 728, AH 730) and Sultanpur (AH 729-732). The coins of Daulatabad were struck with two mint epithets: "Dar al-Mulk" (AH 728, AH 730) and "Hadrat" reported only for the year AH 730. Daulatabad was the renamed Deogir suggesting that Muhammad b. Tughluq had already moved his capital there by this point.
