A COLLECTION FORMED BY PAUL STEVENS, SULTANATES Ghiyath al-Din Mahmud (AH 939-945 / 1532-1538 AD), Gold Tanka, Chandrabad, undated, 10.78g (G&G B890). Extremely fine and extremely rare, possibly the only example in gold. It is not certain where Chandrabad was, though it may have been Chandpur in Murshidabad District. A rare mint, it is only known for coins of Ghiyath al-din Mahmud and 'Ala' al-Din Husain.
