ARAB-BYZANTINE: Enthroned Emperor, ca. 680s-690s, AE fals (3.39g), "pseudo-Damascus ", A-3511A, bird on T to left, various Greek letters scattered about, platform beneath the throne / large cross above M, blundered date formula, ΔAM below, fine strike, minor weakness of strike, choice VF, RR. This is one of the most elegant pseudo-Damascus examples, not illustrated by Milstein. The most interesting aspect is the decorated platform beneath the throne.
