MALAY ARCHIPELAGO, Colonial. Deutsch-Neuguinea (German New Guinea). 1884-1919. AR 5 Mark (37mm, 27.75 g, 12h). Berlin mint. 1894 A. KM 7. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65 WINGS APPROVED. Superb brilliant uncirculated with lovely iridescence, and in the right light has a rainbow effect. Only one graded higher. This is considered one of the most beautiful and desirable coins by collectors.

Mintage of 23,000 pieces, though 4,000 were melted in April 1911 when New Guinea coins were removed from circulation.
