Proof Lincoln Cents
1936 1C Type Two -- Brilliant Finish PR67 Red PCGS. Two types of 1936 proof Lincoln cents are identified as Satin Finish and Brilliant Finish, and the latter is offered here. Large scale proof production was discontinued in 1916 with the matte proof Lincoln cents and Buffalo nickels, along with brilliant proof silver coins. Following a 20-year intermission, proof coins were again produced for collectors from 1936 to 1942, and again starting in 1950. This impressive Superb Gem proof features brilliant orange surfaces with mirrored fields and gently frosted devices. It is tied for the finest certified at PCGS and NGC. Population: 4 in 67 Red, 0 finer (2/24).
