Washington Quarters
1950-D/S 25C FS-601 MS66+ PCGS. CAC. The upper loop of an S protrudes from the upper left and top of the D, which is itself lightly repunched. This overmintmark variety is seldom offered in strong Mint State grades, and it is notably rare as fine as MS66. We have handled an MS66 example of the variety on a handful of occasions over the course of the last decade, but this is the only such coin to bear a Plus designation. It is also CAC endorsed, and with pristine, silvery surfaces it well deserves that distinction of high quality. A bold strike and satin luster complete the visual appeal. Population (D/S): 22 in 66 (3 in 66+), 3 finer. CAC: 11 in 66, 1 finer (2/24).
