1866 $1 Motto PR65 Deep Cameo PCGS. OC-P1, Low R.4. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a. Ice-white motifs and darkly reflective fields ensure exceptional eye appeal for this precisely struck Choice Deep Cameo proof. No toning is evident, and detractions of any kind are limited to a narrow field scuff below star 9. The first-year Motto proof production was 725 pieces, but only a tiny percentage of specimens exist with comparable white-on-black contrast to the present near-Gem. OC-P1 is scarcer than its OC-P2 alternative, and can be distinguished by a different placement of the 1 in the date relative to the shield. Population: 7 in 65 Deep Cameo, 5 finer (2/24).
