The right C of the normal mintmark is doubled inside the upper curve on this variety that has short die lines down from Liberty's nose and a minuscule die chip at the left center of the 8 in the date. The present Select Mint State example represents a highly popular collecting grade among Morgan dollars. Examples at this grade level are generally attractive and affordable. The present piece is fully lustrous and well detailed with untoned, satin surfaces.
