Morgan Dollars
1893-CC $1 MS63 NGC. VAM-2. In 1893, the Carson City Mint produced the last coins from that short-lived institution that opened in 1870. Production in 1893 included 677,000 silver dollars, 60,000 half eagles, 14,000 eagles, and 18,402 double eagles. The coinage total for all denominations was $1,485,040 face value. Today's collectors relish these coins as a reminder of the "wild west." The present Select Mint State example features satin luster and brilliant, untoned silver surfaces. Trivial marks are expected for the grade. The lustrous devices contrast nicely with the fields, especially on the reverse.
