1911-D $2 1/2 MS64+ NGC. CAC. This high-end Choice 1911-D quarter eagle has rich orange-gold color that complements its traditional, finely textured luster, delivering a visual appearance somewhat balanced between the familiar luster of other issues in the business strike series and the matte finish of proof coinage. A few marks on the Indian chief's cheek and in the adjacent field are all that deny full Gem classification. As it stands, this coin is within a minority of the MS64 population with its Plus designation and CAC endorsement, which set it apart from the majority of its peers. CAC: 88 in 64, 11 finer (2/24).
