1798 $1 Large Eagle, Pointed 9, Wide Date, B-23, BB-105, R.3, VF30 ANACS. Bowers Die State III. Although BB-105 is a common die pair, most examples exist at the lower end of the circulated grading scale. The vast majority of survivors grade between VF20 and XF45. This original, medium-gray coin is a solid midgrade example. The obverse elements are well-defined for the grade, while the reverse shows some faint granularity and speckled toning throughout the fields and margins. A tiny obverse rim bump exists above star 10.
